Often in life, we lose sight of the abilities we possess because we become overhwlemed with everyday life pressures. Shayla has adapted the belief that each individual has all the tools they need to get through each situation. She is dedicated to helping her clients discover the tools that they already possess. Shayla has incorporated solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, biopsychosocial approach and psycho-education in her clinical work experience. She is ready to collaborate with you to meet your therapeutic needs, big or small.
Shayla received both her Master's in Social work and Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. She will be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Tennessee this summer. Shayla has 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. She has worked with families who have gone through the child welfare system and juvenile justice system. Her experience also extends to the adult and elderly population.
Shayla is a proud army wife, mother to an amazing baby girl and family pet, Cali. She enjoys traveling, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
